This looks like an alien world, but it is actually Earth seen from highflying jet fighters over the Mohave Desert near Edwards Airforce Base in California. Copyright free image found on the Internet. I have cropped into the image, excluding most of the fighter plane. The colour is natural in the image, just enhanced in Photoshop.
